The International Quilt Festival Chicago – 2013, put a smile on my face! Beautiful quilts of all colors shapes, sizes, techniques, and genres. There was so much eye candy there that my teeth hurt! At the show, there were several fun quilts of cows, which reminded me of the 1999 Cows on Parade in Chicago. One quilt in particular, created by Sandy Thompson, made me laugh aloud. Her quilt, Vino Cow, still brings a smile to my face when I think of it. I have included a photo of her quilt; please notice all of her cute details she added. The plastic grapes in the cow’s mouth and on the barrel, the “reflection” in the cow’s sunglasses of wine bottles, the many “wine” fabrics, the beads hanging from the blanket, and of course the beads and wine cork teats! After seeing this, don’t you have a smile on your face?
