Today while gazing at photos taken while visiting our daughter and grandsons this past Christmas in Germany, I came across this photo below. It is amazing how photos can flood the mind with memories. The photo below is of me reading to my grandsons, while sitting underneath the deployment quilts I had made them.

Staring at this photo, I began thinking, ‘I really hope these quilts, like photos, will trigger wonderful memories for these boys someday. I hope these quilts keep them warm while reading books or watching television, give them comfort while their daddy is Afghanistan, and someday be looked upon as a cherished part of their past.’ I love making quilts, and while I want the recipients to love their new quilts, I also want those quilts to be a part of their treasured of memories.
Do you have a quilt that stirs your mind with memories?
