Let’s talk about Quilt Market!
Where have the last few weeks gone? I feel as though I have been living in a vacuum! Three weeks ago, my husband Ron and I went to the Quilt Market, the following week we were back in Houston at the Quilt Festival. If you do not already know, Quilt Market is for business owners to attend while Quilt Festival is for consumers to attend.
This was our first time attending Quilt Market and what a FANTASTIC time we had! We attended several lectures and schoolhouse sessions with Linda Hahn, Carolina Moore, Stacey Lee, Annie Unrein, Kim Christopherson, Sherri McConnell, and Chelsi Stratton to name a few. We learned, we laughed, and we were INSPIRED!
By going to Market we were able to see some of the new fabric lines that will be coming out soon and let me tell you they are AMAZING! We walked the Market floor and met with so many wonderful people. The booths were beautiful, the people were so nice, and the time just flew by. The most beautiful booth, in my humble opinion, was the Moda booth. Wow, do they know how to set up a beautiful presentation with their fabric designers! The Kimberbell booth was a memorable one as well. The gals in that booth were the sweetest, kindest, most personable gals we have ever met. We felt as though we had known them for years! Just utterly amazing! The new Kimberbell Sippin on Sunshine quilt will be coming out in March of 2026…ADORABLE! Here is a bird’s eye view of the Quilt Market.

While at Market we met up with Christen Phillips. I found her YouTube channel the week before Market, and she asked if anyone was going. I replied saying I would be there, after a few emails and texts we met up! What a fun and energetic young lady she is! While she is young enough to be my daughter, I felt as though we really had a connection. We discovered what a small world we live in as her husband and mine were not only both in the U.S. Navy but were also submariners! We could have talked for hours but there were booths to visit and lectures to listen to! If you have not heard of Christen, check out her YouTube channel ISeeStarsQuilting or her website.
Market this year was much smaller than in years past, so we were told. I believe it, as there were several large companies not represented; most notable was Free Spirit fabrics. The talk is that most companies will be attending the H+H Americas Show to be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois just outside of Chicago in May 2026. This show will be for business owners just like Quilt Market. From everything I have found it will be HUGE! H+H will be more than quilting, it will also include embroidery, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, sewing, cosplay, just to name a few. Ron and I are considering attending in May, and just might attend a Cubs game as well!
